If you have any requests pending, it'll be lit. Try clicking on the chat that you've requested, if you've requested one! That worked for me.

Try clicking on all the chats that you requested to join but haven't been accepted into yet. That can sometimes get your bell to turn off. I think if you have a pending request for a chat and that chat updates, it makes your bell turn yellow. The Snowflake chat seems to be the culprit for a lot of people, since most pending requests for that chat won't be accepted. Apparently, the Snowflake chat is only for Snowflake owners who GMTd Snowflake onto a foundation (even though it doesn't say that in the chat name), so people who own only lined Snowflake or even suprise Snowflake that showed up on random creates will never be accepted into that chat. Also, sometimes if a chat you're a member of updates, just clicking on the chat isn't enough to make the yellow alert bell for that chat go away. You have to click on the box for that chat like you're going to type something and then click on a different chat, and then your bell for that chat goes away.
