In the spirit of hunting for easter eggs and searching for four leaf clovers we are going to have a hunt of our own. A gene hunt! I’ve added a new color gene to the game and it’s already creatable on new foundation horses. Here’s the catch, you can’t see it.

I have added recessive cream to the game. This mutation of the Cream/Pearl (SLC45A2) gene is completely invisible when heterozygous. When a horse has two copies of the gene they will color test like a normal chestnut or bay but appear as a palomino or buckskin with paler than normal eyes.

Recessive cream can not currently be seen in the search, gene testing results or gmt lab. The only way to discover them is by breeding. Recessive cream does interact with other SLC45A2 mutations and will result in a pseudo double dilute when combined with them. (This is your hint!)

Check out this example horse to see what you are hunting for. His color says Bay but he is visually a buckskin. There is no cream in his genotype.





First person to breed a homozygous rc foal will receive a 10 DT prize.

Once a player on this server has bred a homozygous recessive cream foal the gene will become available in the lab and in genetic test results, it will also be removed from normal random creates. So between now and however many days, weeks or months it takes for this gene to be found you can get it randomly for free. The contest is per server.
