Recipe to follow
Lucy Fressola came to this country from Italy when she was 10 years old on a boat in steerage. She entered the country at Ellis Island where they actually had to stay a couple weeks because her little brother got very sick.
She was very traditional and this recipe is certainly one she learned from her own mother.
These are my grandmother’s recipe .. Biscotti ( which means cooked twice)
6 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 tsp anise or vanilla extract
1/4 cup melted butter
4-5 cups flour
4 teaspoons of baking powder
Chopped or sliced Almonds , candied fruit
Beat eggs then mix eggs with sugar extract and butter
Add flour and baking powder and nuts and fruit
Mix by hand until everything is smooth
Make into long loaves by rolling, no more than 2” thick
Bake at 350 until nicely browned
Remove from oven and allow to cook enough so you can slice it.
At 375 degrees put slices back into oven and cook until golden brown.She/her my user # is 59035 -

I made stained glass candy last Sunday at my mum's. My mum, sister and I get together every year and make candy and stuff for Christmas. This year I decided to make something I've never made before and it turned out awesome. We'll be adding it every year now. I found the recipe online. I'll provide the link below. I took a couple pictures during the making. I'll post those on discord.

Well it's not cookies but it is very sweet
And I've heard it called a few different things we call it banana pudding though the recipe is one I've known since I was quite little and it doesn't require any baking if you don't want to just sometime to set up in the fridge
The ingredients are
Two packets of pudding mix some people use banana some people use vanilla I've even seen someone use chocolate before
4 to 6 decent size bananas
A container of whipped cream I personally usually go for the bigger container but some people do the smaller one
Milk
And wafer cookies
You make it using the following instructions
Make your pudding put a little more milk than what the package actually says usually about half a cup for two packs of pudding in addition to what it normally says get your pudding in the icebox to set up some people call it a refrigerator but either way it needs to go somewhere cold to set up
After that I would personally start on cutting up your bananas you're going to want to peel them and then slice them some people do long ways some people do in little chunks it's really up to you you're going to want to do it pretty thin though and you're going to want to get your whipped cream ready and have your cookies on standby
You're then going to want to check on your pudding to see if it's setting up you don't want it to set up all the way it can but it takes a little more to get it mixed up you're going to want to take your putting out of the icebox then you are going to take your container of Cool whip and dump it in your pudding and then you're going to want to fold it in using a spatula or something similar
You want to make sure it gets really well mixed up then get you a container depending on how big of a batch you are making is really going to depend on the container I make a decent size batch usually doing a double batch because it doesn't last very long at my house
Then you're going to want to put about a third of the pudding on the bottom of the container then you're going to want to take a crush up some of your wafer cookies and put them on top of the pudding add some of your bananas and then repeat until your ingredients are gone pop it back in the icebox as I mentioned before some people call it a refrigerator let it set up for a little while scoop into a bowl and enjoy
My proof of making this is a little funny because I was thinking of the old name for the game and well you'll see I wrote my proof on a paper towel and put it beside the pudding hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season
-
And yeah my proof says hnj I'm still trying to get used to the name change even though it was a while ago I took a hiatus for like years and yeah oh and it says forest and 2025 hope that works cuz made it this morning and it's already half goneThanked by 1RoseFlute

I had to make cookies for work, so this worked out well! Plus I added the Summertree version of Chex Mix, because that is a staple around here. Here's hoping my ID badge and TARDIS are sufficient proof!
Also, @Seaswell Is that from the old red and white checked Betty Crocker cookbook?!? It looks really familiar!
Anyway, here's the recipes:
Coco Nutty Cookies
2 cups sugar
½ cup cocoa
1 stick REAL butter (if you don’t use real salted butter the cookies will never set up)
½ cup milk
3 cups quick oats
1 cup coconut
Pinch salt
Mix cocoa, sugar, butter and milk in a saucepan. Bring to a boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat. Add quick oats, coconut and salt. Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper. Let cool.
Peanut Butter no bake cookies
½ C butter
2 C sugar
½ C milk
1C Peanut Butter
2 tsp Vanilla
3C Crushed Saltines
Mix the butter, milk, and sugar. Bring to a boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and add Peanut Butter and vanilla. Stir in the Saltines. Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper to cool.
Dena’s Chex Mix (aka Party Mix aka Cheri Chow)
2 boxes Wheat Chex (we like extra)
1 box each Rice Chex, Corn Chex, Cheerios, Crispix
2 bags Pretzels (we like extra, and prefer sticks)
1 can Peanuts
Butter (LOTS)
Worcestershire Sauce (some)
Lawry’s Salt, Garlic salt, Onion powder, to taste.
SO you can probably find the official recipe on the cereal boxes, but our family’s version has evolved from that original recipe over the decades, and into the scrumptious mix we make today. I dump all the bags and boxes and cans of food into one big garbage bag (preferably unused) and mix it all up. Then I dump some in the blue roasting pan (shown). Sprinkle the Lawry’s Salt, Garlic salt, and Onion powder over the cereal mix. Just use as much as you think your blood pressure can take.
Depending on how full I want to make the pan I melt 2 or 3 sticks of butter in the microwave. Then stir Worcestershire Sauce into the melted butter until the mixture is golden brown. I pour it all back into an old cleaned out Worcestershire Sauce bottle, put the lid back on it and use it to sprinkle the yummy buttery sauce on the cereal in the roasting pan.
Pop the roasting pan into a 225 degree oven. Cook for 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes. The rest of the cereal in the garbage bag will make 4-5 more roasting pans full of Chex Mix. At our house that will last 2 days. We just tell people that we ate a bowl of cereal for breakfast (lunch and dinner), if they ask.
Mmmm…..salt!

Recipe from a B. Dylan Hollis video, but modified a little. Here is the video:
https://youtube.com/shorts/qP91wRpzp70?si=-iG2HH_2hkhR1OrX
Ingredients:
Ratio of 1:1
1 can pumpkin
1 box spice cake mix
(I did a double batch, so it was 2 of each)
I also added some chocolate chips. Didn't really measure, was like 5-10 ounces. Just mixed them in until it looked like the right amount.
Makes a very sticky mixture that's more like a batter than a dough. It will stick to the bowl, beaters, spoons, hands, everything. That's normal!
Use parchment paper on your baking sheet. Dollop it out in approximately cookie sized blobs. It doesn't spread much. Bake 350F for 12 minutes.
They come out the texture of a muffin top, soft and chewy but formed. The cake mix adds the spices, and the chocolate chips add sweetness, if you use milk ones. I used dark chocolate and it made the pumpkin part taste sweeter. Would probably also be great with white chocolate chips or cinnamon chips too! But I am a dark chocolate fan, first and foremost, so that's what I used. -
@silverborn, I’m going to try to put them in muffin cupsShe/her my user # is 59035

Sugar cookie bars. I don't ice mine, I put the sprinkle balls in the dough and on the top. Hoping this works. I'll update after I make Summertree's chex mix, and silverborn's pumpkin cookies.

Well, the pics aren't embedded. I think I'm going to use Summertree's picture account and link, hopefully that's ok, bc I'm clearly too dumb to figure out this picture thing. I'm on my second attempt. I give up.
And Chex mix, adapted for my fam (we don't like pretzels) from Summ

And with that, I've completed my assignment. :D

A little late to the party, family holiday party has been busy! I made chocolates!
-1 can of sweetened condensed milk
-1 lb of confectioner's sugar
Mix well.
-Split into portions and flavour/colour as desired. Make the flavour a little stronger than usual. (vanilla, orange, mint, and peanut butter are favourites in our house!)
-Chill the fondant.
-Mold into desired shapes.
-Freeze solid.
-Melt chocolate, and cover the prepared fondant.
Enjoy!

I went for an easy one from Bluegrass, with SeaHorseFarms' sugar cookies, with my second favorite: a neon tetra (we needed some anyways to decorate!)

Paired here with the lemonballs I co-made with my wife. These are a seasonal staple! (and they keep a long while, so they are great when family has a glut of cookies for us to share). This recipe was originally out of Gourmet magazine, I think. Now it lives in our household recipe book.
And yes, I forgot to post until now, despite having talked about it all month :))
