Why is this foal not chocolate palomino?

Why is this foal not chocolate palomino when both parents are chocolate palomino? What can I do to make him one?
Smoked Chocolate -
This foal has the same genetics but he is chocolate palomino I'm really confused

My guess would be that it doesn't have dp?Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

So it would be 10 GMT even though both parents have it? I thought adding a gene to a lined horse that the parents have only costs 1 GMT

It is 10 GMTs only to put it on foundation. You're right, Starfire, it only costs 1 to put any missed gene on a lined horse. I have GMTed DP onto several lined horses and it only cost 1.Breeding high quality Sheldasen horses. Liver chestnut, DP mushroom, and rose gray riding horses. Dun cobs with all the patterns. Watercolor, Wrong Warp and ice on mixed body types.

Ok great but I heard both his parents are het DP so does that mean I can only do one copy of DP or can I do it from both parents.?

If both parents have DP and you can afford 2 GMTs you can give him both. Just be careful that you change both genes and not the same one twice.Breeding high quality Sheldasen horses. Liver chestnut, DP mushroom, and rose gray riding horses. Dun cobs with all the patterns. Watercolor, Wrong Warp and ice on mixed body types.

Both of his parents are heterozygous DP and neither of them passed it on.

Golden Tokens have been renamed Diamond Tokens to prevent mixing them up with GMTs. Double boosted over cap horses are now designated as ****Star or ****Gold, again to prevent further member confusion issues I have been seeing.
