Spooky Gene
-
Hey there. The spooky Gene is not showing up on my horses very well. I rerolled many many times and its only showing up on their legs? why may this be happening?

They both have minimal white factor.

Gmt blackout cherry na
Those horse has minimal & only 2 white genes (splash m which is pretty wide as far as white goes) normally he wouldn’t have this much white with a normal white gene.
F sweet pumpkin pie kp
Those horse has a large white factor.
If you increase their white factor you will see more of the spooky, but it also increases their risk for producing lethal foals so be careful. -
I tried 2 copies on the liver but it's only showing on the legs and thats after many rerolls. I get it, I think, do I have to add more white factor to get it to show?
-
pestilenttempest thank you very much! I see the answer under the last horse! I'll go easy on the white!
-
upping light to white factor didn't change much

Somethings going right over my head! What am I over looking?

BR Pumpk7109 -
First off, ammit said that the new gene doesnt interact with roan (it IS a kit gene, but it isnt white spotting. The new gene needs white to show) in the second boy the splash (on the legs/face) is where the markings show up- and w20 usually does the same (when by itself).
Secondly w20 doesnt do much of anything by itself.. Try adding frame, and reroll a few times. Maybe a different white spotting gene, or hom patn1 and appaloosa if you can afford it :) -
ok thank you! I've Been banking hb's so I'll try that.
-
Do you think Sabino 2 will bring out the spooky effects?
-
W20 usually amplifies the other white genes
- so my suggestion would be to add w20 to your splash horse or some kind of splash or other kit (non-roan) gene to your horse with w20.(I'm changing my suggestion after looking at the search results below.)
If you want to get an idea of what it might look like before you spend the cash, use the horse search feature to pull up horses with different gene combos and different white factors.
Here's a search for all horses with splash 2 and w20 -- it's not many! -- with no other kit genes and a white factor of minimal. You can see it still mostly looks like socks and blaze.

So if you want more to show, you're going to need to up the white factor or add frame, as people suggested above. Adding another kit white spotting gene might work, but I think the white factor is your limiting factor.
(If you go into the search above, you can choose different white factor options, to see what the different expressions look like.)Thanked by 14HoovesUpStable -
From the original post "will only show when it has white areas to interact with" No white to interact with, no showing the genes.Need to contact me? Read this first.
