One made it through!

Out of 30 foals sired by my star-papered stallion, only one little filly made the BA cut :( But she's a cute one!

wow, passing BA out of a red mare is quite a feat! She is definitely cute!
To get more foals to pass BA, try breeding equivalent paper levels together (star to gold, A to blue, B to red, and C to yellow).
BUT, what you are doing by breeding unevenly is actually a pretty common breeding strategy called bootstrapping. Basically, you breed lower-papered mares to a higher-papered stallion and DON'T BA the fillies. When they come of age, you breed them back to their sire or another high-papered stallion. After a few cycles of this, you will have foals that will pass BA and be of much higher quality than the original mares you started with. It's a great way to build a show herd!
If you want to learn more about bootstrapping, there is a Bootstrap Breeding chat you can join. Folks in there are always willing to help get you started and answer questions!ID 43830
It's nice to be back! :)

She’s lovely! I’ve been having the same issue, but I figure that one is better than none :) some seasons I’ll have a single one pass SBA, and some seasons it’ll be 5!

@BellaVoce I figure I can get some lovely excellent breeding foals, even if only 1 or 2 per season, but I will get a TON of wonderful show foals. And I will of course keep the foals with my favorite genes intact.

@RiverMeadows, your foal is a great-grandfoal of my bootstrap line. I own NaF Why Not and sold his son (the Red mare's sire). She is probably a very high Red just under Blue range. If you're looking for some Bootstrap mares I'm looking to cull my Blue and some older low Gold mares.

@NowandForever I'd be interested if you wouldn't mind!

These are the older Blue girls, I still have to go through my Golds (pasture sorting nightmare). https://hj2.huntandjump.com/member.php?uid=41721&b_id=24416
Are there any genes that you prefer or dislike? My boostraps are all open genes but I do have quite a bit of Satin and Sabino 2 with high white factors (not as much in the oldest mares).
I also have a ton of Star stallions many that have passed BA if you're interested in them (as studs or show ponies). https://hj2.huntandjump.com/member.php?uid=41721&b_id=26180 Any of them over age 4 can be sold. -
@NowandForever Ohh man, you have so many pearls and sooty+! I'm horrible at pricing, so how much are you looking for them?
-
5k a mare for anyone age 11 or younger, 2.5k for the older girls. For the boys it would depend on their bloodline but most between 5-10k (unless they have a much higher lifetime payout). If you want to PM me with any that you're interested in I can quote you a price better. I haven't gotten around to sorting the Gold girls yet but they would probably be 5k also.
