The Satin gene
-
Ok so I have decided that I like satin, and thought to look to see if any were for sale....nope. So looked at breeding, and oh boy are they expensive studs! I bred to one to see if I could (I wasn't too sure if I had to buy it myself to be able to breed it), however there are no drafts with satin in them. While I was thinking of starting up a line of sport horses eventually, I really wanted to get my drafts going along nicely first, and I would like the satin gene in them.
So my question is: do the herd helpers spit out satin? I haven't seen any yet so if they do I would guess that it would be a high ranked one. Or do I have to gmt or breed it into my stock to get it in my bloodlines?Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

Nope, satin is definately not in herd helpers. It is the most expensive gene in the game, and costs 40 GMTs per copy :)ID 108

Oh my, no wonder those studs were so expensive! Ok, so I think if that's the case I'm going to have to wait a good long while, or breed it in xD Thank you!Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

And you need two copies for it to show. So both sire and dam need to have it to produce satin foals.Need to contact me? Read this first. Only send me a PM for PayPal issues or if I ask you to. Otherwise, make a forum post. You will get a better faster answer by making a post.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

Yes, I saw that when looking up the satin studs. Went to the satin breeding club to see what they look like genetically. When it shows, they had sasaProducer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

Correct and the carriers are SAsa or the other way. It is pretty to see how shiny they look.

I know. I want a pretty pretty shiny draft...but did the math and since every sa gene is 40, 1 GMT token costs 20 IVs and 1 IV costs 12,500 hbs...well, I think I'd prefer to save up to buy them with a combination of real money and hbs. But I'll get there eventually ^^Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

Obsidian, I have several Sasa mares I would gladly sell you for a very fair price.
Except for Accidental Tourist I will sell you these mares. PM me for prices, but none will be over 5k.

Pythia and Dreamer ^:)^ talk about pretty ponies
Also keep an eye on quality too. A lot of satin horses have a bit of bad breeding (whether it's uneven generations or breeding quality flat lining) because it's expensive some players have chosen to ignore quality. It's the same problem we had with ice. I have a pair of 7th Gen satins that aren't that great but I use them to breed flashy show ponies----

I am very forgetful so if I owe you anything but am taking to long please send me a PM. I don't get on to play the game as often as I once did but I am usually most active during the 2nd and 3rd week of each monthThanked by 1SummertreeFarms -
Thanks for the offer Confluence, but I really shouldn't. I only started a handful of days ago and have already had to sell a RS to get more money xD I'll just focus on my drafts for now, and get them up. When I get a basic account I'll start considering breeding satins and warmbloods.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.
