His mama is papered higher than his dad. SBA compares to both parents. He is gorgeous though! :x

@KniKna, I had forgotten that SBA compared to both. I'm both loving and hating SBA right now. I've used it before, but never really on anything as important as my champagne line and my nexus line. It's hard to SBA some of these that passed BA. But oh well.

@SpryOfJune Confession time... I don't SBA my hom nexus unless I have several who are about the same and I can afford to lose the ones who passed BA. They seem to fail at much higher rates than their het siblings for some reason that could just be my luck. :))

@JustaSaddletramp, since I had like 5 hom coltd and need one (who I have and is A papered, and the rest are B papered), I've been taking the chance. I figure: one less colt, and one less horse to need a sex change. Makes sense, right?

@SpryOfJune :)) Lucky! Usually I only have one or two hom colts who pass BA a season. This time should be better, I have pasture plans for my nexus 2g girls once I get my 2g macchiato herd out of there. Lol

@JustaSaddletramp, I think I had 3-5ish hom nexus colts/fillies that didn't pass. Everyone else did. That is the 5ish colts and 2-3ish fillies.
I hope to get a good 2g herd of nexus fillies going on from my foundie nexus girlie.

@SpryOfJune Nice! I've mostly just been breeding het nexus 2g and trying for hom 3g, but I have a few hom foundie mares of my own now. Pasture bonus hom nexus foals will be in my future more often, yay! :))

@SpryOfJune Pearl and hom nexus gives gorgeous blues. Cremello/perlino and champagnes do, too. ;)

@JustaSaddletramp, good to know! I've seen some that are kinda greyish/steel. I'm wondering what causes that. It's neat, but it'll never beat the blue, in my opinion!

@SpryOfJune Grey/silvery are the darkest base coats. Then it goes through shades of grey and blue as coat colors get lighter, then pure white horses like max sabinos are coal black. :)

I love that deep dark blue that some pearls can be too, though. This guy was a random Blackest Night with champagne, I added hom pearl and nexus. I just saw I still have a draft champagne BN colt earlier, I need to make another from him. ;;) :D
