Thanks, I just wasn’t sure what to look for or include in my notes about him :-)Celestial Performance Horses

I know he was inducted into the AQHA Hall of Fame in 1993. He won 9 grand championships in Halter. he sired Doc O'Lena and is the grand sire of Smart Little Lena. And he won numerous world championships.
I had a Quarter Horse mare in the 1970's who was a descendant of Three Bars, Doc Bars grand sire. She was a great little mare and smart as a whip.
Quality riding horses with DP, Sooty+, Sooty, SB1 and SB2.
Owner of Ice 1, Phantom Diamond Sparkle, Phantom Lace, Chinchilla, Splash White M, Chocolate, and Onyx. -
All I really know about him is that my mum used to own and show a grandson of his in the 80s lol

Doc Bar was a huge influence on the cutting horse industry and was a very prepotent sire, which means he passed his abilities and looks on to his offspring. He was bred for the track and about 80% Thorougbred blood if you run his pedigree back, but somehow he still managed to end up a stocky bulldog quarter horse who was born 'cowy' and passed it on reliably to his foals. The majority of the top cutting horses in the industry today - and it is an industry - are related to Doc Bar because his line was known for being quick on their feet, cowy, and tough enough to stand up to arena work well. Today's cutting horse isn't nearly as tough as Doc Bar and his foals were, too many have bred for the wrong traits and led to far too many horses with navicular or bad joints from being put in heavy training too young, but the more carefully linebred Doc Bar horses can still get out there and show them how it's done.~*~ Justa ~*~
