Bonus nd1--twice!

I was making some exceptional silvers this morning and two of them came with nd1! I did do a bit of GMT work on both.
This one was already silver bay, so I added a Sooty allele to darken her up a bit.

This one needed an E to make her wild bay show up, as well as the silver.

It is the rarest of the three dun alleles. Most common is nd2, no dun at all. This is the new terminology for what used to be called recessive dun, shown as d in the gene test. Dominant dun (D) is next most common. nd1 does show up spontaneously when creating horses. It's not as rare as brindle, but it also doesn't crop up spontaneously as often roan or appaloosa or White 20. I'm not sure how it compares to spontaneous DP, which is also a fairly rare surprise.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

Thanks, RoseFlute. Those are great names. I've used them both, though the name change doesn't show up in my original post.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."
