It's pretty hard to predict the market for any specific gene in the game - everyone has their own tastes, which is part of what makes hunt and jump so relaxed - no one is competing! Because satin is a rarer gene to find, satin horses tend to be more expensive, but it's finding buyers that is a little more challenging sometimes! If you are interested in selling them, maybe try a forum auction to test the water and see if people are interested.ID 43830
It's nice to be back! :)

There is quite a lot of satin horses on the forest server, so they aren't going to be worth that much just because they have satin. If the satin is also combined with what someone else is looking for, such as high PT star/golds for bootstrapping (although there is quite a lot of them about too), or a quality lower gen, then yes they are probably worth more then

I’m always on the lookout for blue/gold papered bootstrapping mares with satin and a combination of other genes I run in my bootstrap herd (S+, sabino 2, KitM, w8, splash m, nexus, open ice). So I am willing to pay well for what I find that’s available. However, as it was pointed out, there is almost always someone culling from their herds with plenty that meets requests. I would say you would probably have better luck with second and third gen, even bred, quality satin horses if you are really aiming to “fill a niche” in the market. Since satin is a homozygous recessive gene, it’s harder to get those second gen homozygous horses since satin is pretty expensive to put on foundies.
