Fantasy Genes: This sounds like a good idea. Do you think?
-
I've been thinking for a while, I have Chinchilla... I want Mushroom, Splash M, all the Axioms, Wrong Warp, ThunderStruck, and Watercolor...
My Mushrooms would be livers and chocolate palominos. My Splash M would probably just be random mares to cross it into my other fantasy lines, for example, a random Mushroom, a random Chinchilla, etc. The rest would be Axiom Blue, or Red, or Green, with Wrong Warp and ThunderStruck, two of which would be blue, a mare and a stallion. The watercolor would be on bays, for the blue/yellow horses. Lol. If I do this, I swear, I'd probably get rid of all my non fantasy gene horses, except my snowflakes and pearls. Anyone else consider doing this? I cannot afford any of these genes right now, but at some point, I will be trying to get them. :)Love,
Chase ♡ -
I have mushroom and there are a few fantasy genes I'd like to add too, I got mushroom partly because I've wanted a real life mushroom pony for a long time, they just don't happen to appear in the lines I like because they are rare. My mushroom stallion is chocolate palomino with hom kp and a few other bits and pieces, but I intend just to breed his lines in with my current KP lines. If I get any fantasy genes I'll add them onto mares to cross with him.21170

Wow! That's super organized... Mine are chaos. Then I find something that I like, then I try to repeat it as many times as possible. But all of my likes have similar things on the base. So they can all cross.
IE I like liver red duns, and silver grullos, so I like ee aa ZZ DD sty sty horses. But I also like dark silver bay. So Ee aa ZZ ssty, ssty.
With that being said, I love macchiato watercolor specifically together. And sometimes I don't like my nacre on some of my black horses like I thought that I would.
As far as chinchilla I love it on silver black, but not really on chestnuts.Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.

lol i own all the closed genes and its pure and total chaos in my barns and pastures :)) I really want to reorganize but my god it would take a million extra barns/pastures and would take me an eon to complete....Bluegrass Server: HayesStable - 221755

@NorthernStars, @HunterUnderSaddleGirl, @AHayesHorses, part of me is super disorganized, but part of me really wants to just focus on fantasy and Snowflake and pearl. And I feel I could be very organized if I limited myself to each of these genes, which I would really prefer.
Some of my horses, I.e, gifts, GMT'd one's, etc, didn't e leaving, but honestly, most of my horses now, would be leaving. I'm just imagining doing that. @-)Love,

I would love to get rid of all non fantasy genes but it’s not quite possible since I have to have foundations to breed to the fantasies at this point for me lol... but it’s a def goal down the road!Watercolor, Chinchilla, Axiom, Nexus, Wrong Warp, Nacre, Ice 5/8, Satin and Pearl

I feel you Spry.
When I made the decision to focus on the BBA my plan was to drop all non brindle foundation horses completely. Thanks to Ammit and the RGS and the holiday season gene sales my BBA studs are packed with pretty much all the fantasy genes I want on this account.
Unfortunately I have a couple of non brindle RS boys who were my first experiments with GMTs that I am supper attached to and can't seem to let go of. And my 200+ non brindle RS mare collection that I just can't bear to part with as well.
And I also gave my DBtO grandsons that I desperately need to do something with.
So for now. The dream of a purely brindle foundation account is put on the back burner. Maybe I will let my non brindle guys age out and only replace with brindles, who knows.ID# 47364
Breeding for all version of black drafts using chimera foundations.
Help me build my black brindle army!
Always looking to buy B/Red foundation brindle drafts in black, blue roan, grullo, classic champagne, etc.
I can be very scatterbrained and forgetful so if I don't get back to you in a decent amount of time just poke me. -
I like to play with fantasy gene combos, especially mixing in the ice genes. Ice 14 and het axiom and nexus is really cool. Wrong Warp and Watercolor is awesome looking, and so is Ice 1 and watercolor. Thunderstruck and Wrong Warp have really cool effects, too. :)

I just bought Watercolor during the New Year's sale. I already own SplM, Mushroom, Chinchilla and Wrong Warp.
SplM are supposed to be Liver Chestnut Appy Drafts but I've also got DP Bays, regular Chestnut and Bay and not as much Appy as I wanted. It is also my first closed gene.
Mushrooms are supposed to be DP...doing ok with them just trying to get more of them to be hom mu.
Chinchilla....can't get them to pass BA
Wrong Warp trying to get more to be hom and weed the W2 out of them and get bigger boned. I'm also crossing them with Nexus which makes really cool patterns.
Watercolor: just bought on New Year's, want to try breeding my own line at first using my GMTed VoSes but still have to wait until they are old enough (started with yearlings). -
With how many fantasy genes there are, I've split them into large categories rather than try to keep them straight beyond that, lol! That way I have only two lines to deal with. The first line is my watercolor/thunderstruck/nacre - all of which show really well and look really cool with each other, so it's a more specified line. The second is, well, everything fantasy! Aka axioms and ices (and plaid). My Christmas present ponies are the foundation of that. And then my non-fantasy (or semi-fantasy) closed genes - chinchilla and macchiato are mixed into my silver pocket watch line because both look great on silver black (and nexus is in there too), and finally my mushrooms are a more elite little group as I started with a mare (and thus am limited by egg supply) and have strict requirements - flaxen, black liver, hom mu.
I honestly have a ridiculous number of lines and probably need to cull further to keep everything manageable, but then again I've always been a multitasker :))ID 45703 | he/himOpen barn policy - no closed lines! I'm always selling straws and eggs from anything I have that catches your eye, don't hesitate to PM me and ask! -
My Herd.....my herd is slightly manic these days. I own all of the closed genes now.
I have a KP herd established that’s DP/S+ red base. I’m breeding my mushroom herd from the same base, so DP/S+ red base there.
My chin herd just got smooshed into my existing Macchiato herd which is black/silver black based with W8 and satin. Loving my blue eyed black splashes (long term top five favorite color in the game) so making them even more dramatic with Chinchilla suits me.
I’ve got a DP GP line. Dissolved my DP silver bay line in favor of a dilute bay Nexus line (to get those stunning blue background colors on Hom Nexus).
Watercolor/Plaid/Nacre S+ bay base line that now has 5 varieties of Ice being introduced to it thanks to my original Watercolor/Plaid Foundations aging out and the recent sales....
I’ve got an Ice Herd that has most of the Ices in it on black and gray bases (because Ice 14 is awesome on a gray base!).
And then my Axiom/Wrong Warp/Ice Herd...no focus on base color or added patterns...but for some reason I’ve decided that Thunderstruck belongs in this batch instead of over with the Rainbow Riot Herd...
And my Bootstrap Herd is Nexus and Ice 1/8 focused with a hard goal of topping the Fantasy Breeders Club boards. We are getting there!
I seriously need to cut my breeding herd by half (again) but instead I am just keeping on keeping on.... -
My lines ... hmmm ... lines seem so nice and straight and clean, mine are more like avalanches of horses. I have been slowly organizing over the last six months and I have started separating the horses. Up until then except for my snowflakes everyone ran together. Some of my older pastures still have some mixing, but I correct it as I find it.
Era 5 line - All my other horses are EPerf and ExPro based. last month I decided to start an Era 5 line based on non experf rank specials. Not sure if I will keep this going or not.
Fantasy - I collapsed my rainbows and ice herd with my everything Nexus line into a single line called fantasy. I have all the genes and I love how they look all mixed together. Plus with the gene sales, most of my stallions have these genes all mixed together. My goal with this line is high testing evenly bred horses. This is the goal for most of my lines.
KP - I have a KP line - it has not been getting a lot of love, but I now have some new foundations so maybe I can reinvigorate it.
KitM and W8 - Just starting to separate this out. Love, love, love these kit patterns. This will be a growing area in my barn. After 2 plus years in the game, I may have found a colour/pattern that I may wish to take through my herd.
Snowflake - This line includes everything app. No colour restrictions for base colour. My goals are to produce an evenly bred +13 pt snowfakes. Currently I am about to slowly make Gen 4 snowflakes hom only. Then Gen 3. Unfortunately some of my best AFPTs are het, so it will be slow.
Bootstrap. - For me this herd is all about AFPTs and PTs. Looking to work my way to a PT of 14. I have two Gold mare pastures devoted to this. One has an AFPT cut off for mares of 12.95 after 3 foals, the other 12.9. The second will be brought into 12.95 by the end of this season.
Miscreant line - how bad can you get. This is all about low breeding quality animals. I compare against my baseline stud and soon they will have to be aga or inf to stay. Still experimenting a lot with this line. It is just fun. The good news is these horses do not sit in pastures as I wanted the lowest scored horses I can get. Pasture bonus is not my friend.
Mush, chin, splash M, satin - these are mixed in my general herd at the moment, so they will end up slowly working through all my horses. Numbers are too low to separate.
General herd - everything else. Experf/expro foundies, blue/A gen 2s and 3s, star/gold all other gens. Culled by afpt and comparison testing pretty vigorously. All colours and patterns welcome.
