Satin

I bought a lovely filly from mystic rose last month and she has satin but I'd like to know a bit more. For instance, is it normal for a satin horse to obviously show it is satin and then once it turns two for it to loose the satin look?
The filly I have was obviously satin (had the multi colored shimmery stuff) and now that she has turned two she looks like a normal Grullo mare. I can't tell if she is heterozygous or homozygous for the gene either. I thought maybe it was a glitch so I refreshed the image and then I thought maybe it had just lightened the intensity of the satin effect.
I'm not into satin that much so I haven't researched it either and it isn't mentioned on the forums as much as other colors are.

And color--satin only shows when it's homozygous. So you know she's homozygous for it and all her foals will be carriers at least!

Golden Tokens have been renamed Diamond Tokens to prevent mixing them up with GMTs. Double boosted over cap horses are now designated as ****Star or ****Gold, again to prevent further member confusion issues I have been seeing.
