Lovely silver brown filly

    Sooo I bought this lovely looker today, and then realized she's era 4. All my breeders are era 5, so I can't use her in my program. That stinks, because her sire is a brindle RS and she's carrying pretty genes I want in my herd! She's for sale for $3000 or I'd be willing to do a trade for a 5 gen filly/mare carrying black/At genes.

    I don't understand why you couldn't use her in your program? The eras are just used to group horses together, so that older horses with more established lines aren't competing on the leaderboards with new creates. (Or I think that is the logic behind it. There is a section on eras in the FQA).
    That filly is an even bred gen 2, so its not like you'd be breeding her unevenly if you put her to a Gen 2 boy.

    I agree with GallifreyanAngel. Era's have no dictation on a horses breeding or showing ability. The reason why the era's change is to basically give newer breeders a chance to get on the leaderboards.

    For example, if you look at the era 0 Leaderboards, you'd mostly see Darkstar as the breeder of the horses there. In the Era 5 breeders club, it's a lot more varied.

Gene Guide Update!

The sunshine gene, previously known only from one line of Standardbreds has been discovered in a TWH. The gene guide has been updated with this new information. Sunshine may be much wider spread than originally thought.

New Genetics Guide!

Our brand new gene guide can be found in the "Resources" section of the navigation, or by clicking underlined genes on the gene testing results. Right now only scientifically documented genes have been added but I look forward to adding all our other genes very soon.
