Colts +show bonus
-
Just want a quick opinion. If I have Colts and other stallions that I don't use for studs or plan to use as studs, should I geld them to boost showing bonus? Most of the older stallions don't show much talent for making money or points in the show ring. Or should I give them to new players? I dunno probably geld them all :-/----

I am very forgetful so if I owe you anything but am taking to long please send me a PM. I don't get on to play the game as often as I once did but I am usually most active during the 2nd and 3rd week of each month -
I'd geld them all and keep as show ponies, or just geld them and put them through the auction to get your 2500, I wouldn't bother giving them to newer players really

Don't bother altering older horses, though, because the altering bonus only applies to training, which only happens in the first half or so of a horse's life. :)

If I have colts that don't measure up to be breeders in my herd, I geld them for show ponies (or geld and auction if they have low PTs, but I keep everything 10.0 and over). Older stallions I might offer for sale or keep in a barn that has auto show and put them up for public breeding...it depends on the stallion though. Some of my guys are definitely more popular than others on the public breeding boards, so the ones that aren't being bred to...its six of one, half dozen of the other. If they have a couple hundred points, probably hold onto them, If they don't, it might be worth it to drop them in the auction. Only reason to give them to new players is if they have a ton of points or they are rank specials or equally amazing (in my opinion).

Alrighty. I'll start gelding a day sorting. None of my boys are grand enough to makes me tons of points yet but I'll keep the ones that make the most.----
