Ugh.. Well in today's news at AshBrooke Farm:

Woke up like normal and went upstairs to get dressed for church before checking on the animals. Our dining room has a huge window that overlooks the horse pen. I happened to walk over there to let the dogs outside and looked out the window. No horses. So I walked over to the side window. No horses but the big red gate was WIIIIDDE open! I sprinted to my dad's room and told him "gate is open, horses are gone and then sprinted to the basement to get haters and lead roles, eating that they were just in the front yard or at the round bale trailer. I run outside and get halfway down the fence line when Angel comes speed trotting around the corner and just stares at me like "DO YOU HAVE GRAIN?!" No Angel, I did not. So Classy comes over to see what's going on and instead of going into the pen, Classy turns and runs behind the car port into the woods and Angel follows. As they were making their way behind the horse pen I sprinted inside and threw grain into a bucket and then ran back out shaking it. They came speeding around the other side of the horse pen and I tried to get them to follow the grain back to the open gate. NOPE. Just wanna stand in the sand pit. So I grab a lead and walk back over with the grain and put the rope around Angel thinking classy will follow. Again, nope! She stands there are tries to nibble the tiniest little pieces of hay left in the cart from last night. So I have to walk all the way back after putting Angel in the pen and get Classy. There is now a lead rope holding the gate shut. I noticed that I didn't see any poop and my mom hadn't seen anything when she left so they must not have been out long but the part that worried me most is when my dad and I left. We have a 300' driveway and the horses are in the backyard. As we pulled out to head to church I looked down and saw fresh hoof prints. Meaning They had been in the road at some point. Angel is the one who got out last Thursday so this is her strike two
