Rank 3: Homozygous Silver

All horses will be homozygous (ZZ) for the silver gene. Red based horses will carry the gene, but not show it. Possible colors include silver black, silver bay, silver brown, silver buckskin etc. Horses might be patterned or solid. -

Remember the rank only refers to the rarity of the genes or combination of genes, not the quality of the horse produced! Rank Specials usually give perfect foundations, every thing else gives the full range of quality possible.

Gene Guide Update!
The sunshine gene, previously known only from one line of Standardbreds has been discovered in a TWH. The gene guide has been updated with this new information. Sunshine may be much wider spread than originally thought.1/27/2026 3:58 AM EST
