should i take off the frame?
-
should I take the frame off this guy because I'm going to be breeding splash horses to him and I don't want any fatal foals

Diamond Freak -
Do the mares you plan to breed him to have frame? Splash is safe with frame and can lead to gorgeous patterns especially with homozygous frame and/or higher WF.Breeding high quality Sheldasen horses. Liver chestnut, DP mushroom, and rose gray riding horses. Dun cobs with all the patterns. Watercolor, Wrong Warp and ice on mixed body types.

Splash and frame are perfectly fine together! They both however increase WF so you have to watch the kit load. Here are two of my splash frame babies

I wouldnt. Just make sure not to breed him to any splash mares who also have frame.
-
You can't remove the frame from him because his sire is homozygous for it.Bluegrass Server: HayesStable - 221755

You should be okay if you make sure the mares you breed him to do NOT have frame, and DO have lesser amounts of White Factor--nothing higher than Medium, I'd say. It's his Kitm and Kitw20 that might cause some concern.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

I thought kitm was safe to breed to now
-
and this is the mare I wanted to breed him to

Gold Traveler -
Frame and splash are fine together, it's only frame x frame that is lethal. Here's a link to the KIT lethality chart and explanation.

ok ill try to breed them later on but their kit genes might have a problem and they have large to extensive white factors..I might get a dead foal
-
I think there is a slight chance of having problems if the foal is homozygous splash, Kit20Kitto, and has extensive white factor (remember Kit20 enhances the amount of white), but there are a lot of other possibilities that would be less dangerous. If they were my horses, I'd pull eggs and straws and create a number of embryos and see what happens. There's about the same chance of getting a foal that is homozygous Kitm with no splash, which wouldn't be quite what you're looking for either, although the foal would probably survive.De gustibus non disputandum. M, w20 and tobiano are in the green, which means always safe. I would encourage you to read the post very thoroughly to help you understand better.

Ok I understand it now thank you :)
