    Hiya!

    So I’ve been trying to wrap my head around stallion futurities, especially since I want to create my next foundie stud to enter it within the next few months.

    I had some probably very silly questions, but I can’t for the life of me seem to find answers anywhere. My main questions are:

    1) what age do you need to create your foundation stallion at to be able to enter him into futurities? Do you have to create him as a yearling?

    2) does futurity locking a colt automatically enrol him into stallion futurities when he comes of age?

    3) are you only able to enter a lined colt into futurities if his site was also entered?

    4) are you still able to breed your own foals with your futurity stallion, and they just won’t count towards his standings?

    Thanks all! The first question is probably the most pressing, since I’d want to create him before this month is over if he needs to be a foal to start off.

    Stallions need to be breeding age to qualify, so at least 3. You can create a yearling, but until he is old enough to sire foals he will not be in the running.

    2) does futurity locking a colt automatically enrol him into stallion futurities when he comes of age?
    Stallions that meet the requirements an automatically entered. Locking foals prevents them being sold back to the game which may delete them and affect a stallion's eligibility.

    3) are you only able to enter a lined colt into futurities if his site was also entered?
    Any stallions who has at least 10 foals bred and owned by another player and under 6y/o will be automatically entered. Whether or not his sire ever qualified has no bearing on his eligibility

    4) are you still able to breed your own foals with your futurity stallion, and they just won’t count towards his standings?
    Yes you can still use your own stallions. That does not affect their eligibility or standing.

We all work together to qualify stallions and everyone in their is more than happy to help and answer questions.     Thank you so, SO much omg! This is so beyond helpful, I can’t tell you how much i appreciate it! :)

    I’ve been on the site for almost 10 years now (off and on) and have really craved more community connections, so I think I’m going to take the plunge and join the discord. Thank you again for answering and giving me the push I need to be a little more involved than I have been!
