Hi all! I'm excited to let you know that we now have an app version of the game to try out! Rather than a store-based native app like you might be used to on your phone or computer, we’re taking advantage of a common browser feature that allows you to “install” a website onto your device. Here’s what it gets you:

• An icon on your home screen or pinned to your taskbar, just for HGG!
• A dedicated process just for the game! No more getting lost among the tabs.
• A more pared down, minimal version of your chosen browser’s UI.
• You can still use all your favorite browser extensions and settings.
• Other features, depending on your browser of choice. For instance, Edge makes it easy to pin HGG to your start menu.

I’ve also been spending time improving the mobile version of HGG, which applies to both mobile browsers and the app. Check out the changelog for all the details.

To install the app, you can click the “Install HGG as an App” button that will show up at the bottom of the navigation menu, and follow the prompts.

The app is available on most major browsers, apart from Firefox. Safari and iOS-based browsers require a few extra steps, which the prompts helpfully explain.

Note that each server has its own app. For instance, installing from Bluegrass gives you an icon labeled "HGG - Bluegrass."

This feature is brand new, so we're expecting some rough edges. Please try it out, let us know what you think, and report any issues you find in this thread. Thanks so much!
