How to get on the leaderboards?

As a new(ish) player, what is the fastest/best way to get on the leaderboards and start earning prizes and trophies?ID 58328

There's also a strategy for the second generation category, maybe someone will share, I'd like to know too.
Also, in June, a new era starts, so you can get mares and studs all from that new era and competitively breed them, everyone else will be starting from the bottom withyouShe/her my user # is 59035 -
•Strategically register your foals in the least represented clubs that they are eligible for.
•Either manually show your horses every week, or double check that everyone got showed twice if you are using automatic showing. If you are using automatic showing, be sure to turn it off if it is set to run between the 28th and the 1st… if it shows after awards and before 1st, you wasted a showing that could have counted towards the new season.
•use your first GMTs to make foundations eligible for the least represented clubs and to make your breeding stock perfectly consistent. I started with just my stallions.
• Take advantage of futurity and stallions listed in the forums to improve your lines. Take advantage of the boosted and maxed stallions being offered for breeding. Futurity stallions are also a good opportunity to bring new genes into your herd.
• for eras, your best bet is starting with the most recent era, but if you play the auctions smart, you should be able to be competitive in the three most recent eras.
• Don’t sell off all your 10 year olds, most foundations and 2Gs don’t start hitting the boards until between 9-12. Also watch for nice 8-10 year olds in the auctions or from foundation rescue (account number 13).
• compete in the futurities consistently. It takes a few years for your stallions to move up the boards. And futurity foals are are a great way to win GMTs.
•volume - keep buying barns and filling them.
• Hit @FolliesFantasies up for some show ponies, they are blessed by the spirit of sharing and they have great luck! When I first started hitting the boards, the spelds I got from her were my first consistent winners.

Thank you so much, this is super helpful!
How do I know which clubs are underrepresented?ID 58328 -
You have to do the numbers. Each club lists how many there are.
There are 15000 snowflake appies and
52000 chestnuts for exampleShe/her my user # is 59035Thanked by 1CarlyManciu -
Check your private messages, I’m putting together a little package to help give you your first taste of the leader boards.

Show horses always available! I keep running out of show barn space and having to send them to auction. HBs from auction are nice, sure, but let me help you with your show herds! This is what my tribute herd was created for - to send out into the world. :)
Send me a PM anytime.Folly's Fantasies #43484 (she/her): Horses, straws, and eggs from my Doubleskunk tribute herd are always free.Thanked by 1Summervine -
I did some data mining this afternoon. The number one factor in LB wins is the sheer size of the account. There is a lot of randomness when it comes to winning points so the more chances you have the better. I can confirm what BoredCowgirl posted above. Those Foundation and 2nd-generation leaderboards are golden for smaller accounts who can't afford to go for the top producer lists.
Boosting only is a factor in the top producer and PT boards. You don't need boosted horses on any of the other boards. It can be a big help if your foals are from *** stock when it comes to the lined most-points board but if you go look at the clubs the winners are just as likely to be from ** stock as ***. As long as the PT is over 13 you are probably ok.
Maxing is super important to the strategy for era racing but no longer has any impact once an era has reached the primary era (and breeding quality cap), and again you don't need it for the points board. Breed futurity horses from expensive maxed studs in these newer eras for extra shots at GMTs.
The barns with the most wins are being smart about when they show, and have lots of horses so lots of chances to get lucky with points (and their horses are old enough to be leveled off) . You have to max to get the best PT and producer boards but competition is so stiff there. It's not where anyone makes most of their points.Need to contact me? Read this first. Only send me a PM for PayPal issues or if I ask you to. Otherwise, make a forum post. You will get a better faster answer by making a post.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )
