Someone please define Bootstrap!
-
I have tried to find out what this means by reading lots but haven't stumbled upon it!
-
People incorrectly use it to mean uneven breeding and it should not be used for that. To bootstrap something means to rapidly start it up. If you take a very high level stallion and breed him to generic low level mares he will produce daughters better than the mares. Breed those daughters back to another very high-level stallion and keep those daughters, rinse and repeat until you get high-level mares to use. You can get mares of top quality in 3 generations it would take you 8 generations to get normally.
Bootstrapping is a method to get cap-quality horses as quickly as possible. It does not mean uneven breeding even though many people, not understanding how it works use it to mean that.Need to contact me? Read this first.
