Need advice about GE

I was looking on the auction for the Gift Exchange. I found a few horses that matched up pretty well. When I went to bid for them the person I intended to gift them to has already bid on them. So is it ethical to outbid the person in order to gift them the horse?

Golden Tokens have been renamed Diamond Tokens to prevent mixing them up with GMTs. Double boosted over cap horses are now designated as ****Star or ****Gold, again to prevent further member confusion issues I have been seeing.
