So I was sorting through my keeper studs to take notes on gmt projects and noticed this boy is homozygous for Frame on his second strand. He was a bit of a rarity anyways being a Chimera from two Vault of Stars foundies. I'm guessing since his first strand is heterozygous is the reason he survived. I'll change his inheritance to avoid problems, but thought I'd share him in case someone else had ran across this.

Though the foals still wouldn't be any more lethal than if he passed the heterozygous O on the other strand even if he did breed with the second strand, right? He can only give max of 1 O no matter what and he can do so with either strand. Do I have that right? This is so interesting.

Does this mean he is a zombie being half lethal horse? That poor one strand of four doing all the work to keep the horse alive despite he genetic breakages in all the rest of the strands! XD

Yes, you're correct. I failed to mention my intent to remove the single copy of Frame as well :) Love the idea of him being half zombie lol

I've got one too! The best in pasture foal from one of my foundation pastures is also a chimera with homozygous frame on his second DNA set:

Did a search and there's only five second gen chimeras with O/O in the game. You actually have two OndowaStables

Interesting, they're all on second strand! I wonder if second strand denotes only color while first strand controls lethality (and maybe height/weight/etc too?)

@looper you could always find out about the height and weight by merging a riding pony and a draft together and seeing what you get!

The second strand doesn’t like to follow the rules. I have a mare on Bluegrass who is hom W1 on her second strand!

First Strand Draft 8659703

Out of curiosity, I put a copy of height regulator on the riding pony before merging, and the primary was still unaffected by that, even though that's in the genes itself. I think that's pretty clear, then - appears that second strand is purely color (and inheritance of course), hence why the lethal combos are totally fine on the second strand.

Yup, the second strand is just the color, not the body.
