I was working my way through another handful of mares and got this filly:

BS 8500022
Her PT is the highest I've ever bred, I think, but she tested as only blue papered! What a shock. I am not sure then if I should spay her to use her as a show pony, or pop her in another breeding program to maybe drag their average PT up.
Thoughts? -
My advise would be to spay her for your show herd, since all the mares on her visible pedigree are gold papered. In my opinion, there is no point in breeding a horse that is a step down in papers from its parents. With that PT, though she should eventually train up to the top half of 8W and make you a bunch of points as a show horse.
I didn't realize that parents capable of producing a PT that high could produce a blue papered foal! She must have hit the top of the parents possible show score and the very bottom of their possible breeding score.Breeding high quality Sheldasen horses. Very good reminder that PT and breeding ability are thoroughly unrelated, lol! She'll make a super cute show pony. But with that PT, hang onto her parents - they're the ones you want to be breeding!ID 45703 | he/himOpen barn policy - no closed lines! Thank you all! I'm still new to breeding higher level horses, so I am seeking advice continually. She will join my show ponies!
