Question about breeding /pasture breeding.
-
This question may have been asked. But I’ve been racking my brain and I couldn’t find the answer. So when we place a mare in pasture they breed better foals. So let’s say I have a mare in the pasture and I take her out of the pasture and breed her in the stable, Does the she still breed a better foal due to the time in the pasture or no? <- sorry if this question doesn’t make a lot of sense.
-
I think No, she loses pasture bonus when she's hand bred. But I could be completely wrong on that since Ammit did just change it up so that moving mares to a barn doesn't immediately kill a mares pasture bonus, so long as she is put back in before we roll over to the next day, if that makes sense lol. Basically if she stays in the barn overnight and you put her back in pasture the next morning, you'll lose that mare's bonus.
Hmm, I might just have to experiment real quick. Now I'm curious lol. -
Lol I tried it last month. But I’ve just started recently getting serious about playing so I’m still learning vs just breeding for pretty colors so I had no clue if it gave the bonus or not. And also thank youuu for responding (:

And so we learn. I was completely wrong, pulled a mare and tested the theory, hand bred her and popped her back in the pasture. She still has her 30+ days. She's a boot mare, so probably not my best choice to see if the foal comes out better, but I didn't have any even bred mares in my pastures lol. In any case she still has her bonus, and it's that that helps make better babies. I'll go test this colt and see how he stacks up.

Oh no :(

Anytime, lol. Here's the colt. He didn't pass BA, but I didn't really expect him to anyhow, but he's not too bad on his other stats, star papers and a decent pt. He didn't give us much to go on lol.

Probably a small group of foundies with 30+ days bonus would be a better test lol
-
I have a small pasture of foundies I can pull out and breed real quick. I'll post the foals. Mind you they are all reds against an exceptional producer.

Based on what I'm looking at for results I would say hand breeding in the barn does NOT include the pasture bonus, even though they still have it till rollover if put back in the pasture.45120

Only pasture breeding gives the boost. Hand breeding gives no boost no matter how many days the mare has.Need to contact me? Read this first. Only send me a PM for PayPal issues or if I ask you to. Otherwise, make a forum post. You will get a better faster answer by making a post.
