BA Advice - Boot Baby

    I have a small bootstrapping herd from random horses iv collected over the last year. I dont pay it too much attention. I usually just BA everything and use it to fill my show barns. I always SBA the boys. I know my stallions are quite strong in comparison to most of my mares so I have had probably only one or two boys pass SBA in the last few months. One of said boys was given his first run of the pasture this season. Top of the pasture breeding according to my email was this boy. He has tested:
    AGA sire
    Superior to grandsire

    His sire tested aga to my other top BS stallion whereas he tested superior to said stallion.

    My question really is this - will he pass BA and more importantly will he pass sba.

    He won the lottery on the genetics and is my first 13PT. I cant afford a boost this month and dont want to be spending too much on this line.

    Good chance he will pass BA if he is AGA his sire. I wouldn’t want to risk SBA, but I would definitely try to save up for a boost and make him your new bootstrap stallion. Congrats!

    He is definitely margainly better than his sire. I'm wondering if I should just wait and give the sire a few more seasons with my ever strengthening mares for a superior baby and just not test this boy for a while

    Remember that BA compares to both the sire andDam, so if the colt is worse than his dam he could still fail BA! Do you have any idea of the dam's quality compared to the sire?

    No, they are not from the same breeding so not a clue in regards to their quality difference. I dont bootstrap much so I dont know much about that sort of thing. He passed BA but I'm too scared to sba him yet. I'll wait a few more seasons I think to see if i get any more that high. @HTRanch

Golden Tokens have been renamed Diamond Tokens to prevent mixing them up with GMTs.

Double boosted over cap horses are now designated as ****Star or ****Gold, again to prevent further member confusion issues I have been seeing.
