Do points and value increase together?
-
I’m planning ahead for when I can no longer make pointed foundations.
When my creates no longer have points, is it possible to increase their value by showing? For example, if I made a 3 year old non pointed mare from a desirable herd helper and she earns over 100 points through showing over the next couple of years, would 3000 be a fair price for her?
I don’t rely on horse sales on any of the servers, but they do give me a nice boost of money. I know that pointed horses are extremely valuable, but I don’t want to take advantage of that and overprice my horses.
Thank you! -
Yes, showing is how horses earn points. Every place in a show except for last place with worth a set number of points. Daily payout for each horse is a fraction of their points, I think about 1/7.
The Current Lifetime Payout is the total daily payout that horse would generate from this day until the end of the horse's 17th year (the minimum age horses are expected to reach), assuming no additional shows are entered and no additional points are earned.
For example, this mare was bred, so she was created with 0 points. All her points come from her showing. She currently has 830 points, which means she'll generate a little over 11,000 hbs before her 18th birthday, when she might pass away. That does not include that knowledge that she's still placing in the middle of her classes and earned 230 points this month and may earn 230 points again next month, or that she's earned 805 hbs from showing.

Strictly looking at points, I think 3k for a 100 pointed foundation that's 3 years old is certainly reasonable - if I'm looking for points to add to my barn I'm probably not going to care if they came via creation or showing. Desirable herd helpers may sell for more than 3k depending on the herd helper though.

A good way to tell if your horses are overpriced is to look at the market. If they sell in five minutes, you probably could have priced them higher. If they don't sell for three months, probably overpriced.~Purveyor of the finest riding horses in Rakia~
