18th Birthday celebration!
-
im not on too much anymore, so ill be a little slow with requests.
Hiya guys! today is my 18th birthday, and to celebrate i thought id offer all of my horses up for brood (even XFiles!) and one free foal to any account that would like one (name the specifics, i breed for pretty much anything on a draft base). Show foals are also available. I can pull straws or put horses up for brood in a chat of your choosing (i sadly cant pull eggs at the moment, im sorry!) this will be available for the rest of January
need a small influx of cash? leave your ID and a childhood memory that has a lot of meaning to you. Your first pet? maybe a vacation? everyone will get some amount of hbs, ranging from 5k-100k for participating. :)

I don't really need any breeding stock atm, but I thought I'd share a small memory that always makes me giggle.
When I was younger, my parents were firefighters. I would always go on every call, every meeting; I loved all of it. There was always one minor problem though: I couldn't say "firetruck" for the death of me. Now we think it's because of my dyslexia, but it always came out as "tiref**k". It always made everyone laugh and giggle, some people would look at my parents with a look of disgust and think they did it on purpose. However, it has always been a fun story we tell.Home of Big N' Bruised and Shine High Bootstraps

Happy birthday!
I don't need horses, but given my current projects (one involving over 500 eggs I've pulled), moneys would be nice. Lol
That being said...
I'm not sure how "childhood" it is, but I was still pretty young. My favorite cat had just had kittens, immediately, I knew the one I wanted to keep. A MASSIVE brown tabby. My grandmother agreed that I could keep him. He was the world's BEST cat. By 3 years old, he was still unfixed, didn't spray in the house (although he primarily lived outside on the farm), he also wasn't fat at all (not skinny, but slender), but was well over 30 pounds! One day, like 5 of our dogs were attacking him, all at once. I tried keeping him after, but he was terrified of our dogs after that. I knew my best option and his was to rehome him. So, to the no-kill shelter he went. I regretted it immediately, and to this day, despite moving to another state, I wish that I could find him somewhere (although he's old as dirt by now, if he's still alive). I still hate getting rid of him, but I knew he couldn't live with us and our 8 +/- dogs in constant fear. I can only hope he's been happy wherever he is.
A happier true childhood story is one where I had a Shetland pony mare. She was gentle, but taught me well needed lessons. Not long after having her (her name was Rainbow), the movie Spirit came out. Aside from being a fluff ball pony, she looked so close to Rain, my grandmother told me I should've named her Rain. She was the best little pony anyone could ask for, and I had her until her last day on this planet.

Thanks guys for the birthday wishes! :x
@SandyHoof oh my gosh, i totally just giggled.. thats honestly adorable. The adults that looked down on your parents though obviously had no sense of humor or compassion.
@SpryofJune im so sorry you had to give your baby up, thats an extremely difficult thing to do no matter how old you are (i had to do the same thing with a kitten that i had rescued two years go)... im sure he found a loving home after the fact though. have you tried getting back in contact with the shelter? im sure they keep records of who they adopt the animals out to, maybe they could get you in contact with the owners (whether he is still alive or not)? <3 Aww i love spirit (its one of my all time favorite cartoons). do you have any pictures of rainbow?Thanked by 1SandyHoof -

And I would love a foal as well! I’m hoping to start breeding for KP so if you have one that’s Het or hom for it (and preferably black or brown based) I would love it!
(My ID is 49874.) As for a childhood memory.. when I was maybe 5 I got my first pet, a white guinea pig named fluffy. He was from a rescue so he was already tame. I loved that guinea pig so much. I used to push him around in my stroller and he would squeal in the morning to remind me to feed him. One time I dropped him (not very far and he was perfectly fine) and he was so scared he started crying (it sounded like “reet reet!”) and then I started crying too. :)Thanked by 1MariaChapinFarm3 -
I haven't tried contacting them, mostly due to the fact I sent him there over 5 years ago. More over 8, I'm sure. I miss my boy. His name was supposed to be Destin (I think that's French for Destiny, I can't remember anymore), but he ended up being named Stripes (or Fry, for short). Thankfully, I have a realtive kitty of his, and she's the best thing since him. It's one of those things, I'd give anything to have him back, or at least just see him once more.
I don't, sadly. All of the pictures I had of her were printed (like from Kodak Cameras, but via sending the film to walmart), and my album of those pictures are still at my grandmother's.
Another funny story is that I also had a white/grey donkey named Eeyore. He was harder to keep weight on, but a friend I had when I was younger wanted to ride him. He chose no saddle or blanket (at least), and let me tell you! Guys (of any age) sitting on bony donkey spines is funny to anyone but themselves. He immediately regretted his decision and wanted off.Love,

Happy birthday!! Mine is Friday, yay January birthdays!

A childhood memory that I particularly like is one Christmas my parents took my brothers and I on the "Polar Express." There was a train that took us to the North Pole and they served hot chocolate on the train ride. We got a big snow storm that night and it was particularly magical! :)Thanked by 1MariaChapinFarm3 -

I’d also love some straws from this boy if possible. I have some pretty snowflake ladies that I think he would cross wonderfully with!

When I was a kid, we used to go on family fishing trips every year. My dad has since passed, and I cherish those memories and wish I had appreciated them more at the time. I hope I can recreate a similar experience with my own children. -
Happy Birthday! :D

We used to have a summer vacation at my grandparents' home in Pennsylvania. My dad drove 18 wheelers and would meet us there between runs. He always did the truck horn for us when he had to leave for another run which was great fun for 5-10year olds. The critters and the fishing were the real markers of each trip though. My grandparents were pug people. Their first was named Ollie and he was my favorite. Since he was an only child he was very people oriented and liked to play with us. When they lost Ollie, they got Milo and Otis. Those two were fun but definitely more bonded to my Grandpa and to each other. Outside things were a little wilder. There was a family of raccoons that was coming to sniff around one year so Pap Pap got us all hunkered down in the sun room to watch through the window screens. When they came out to try and pull Pap Pap's trashcans apart I tried to go get Pap Pap to come and see. I almost busted my head through a screen door I was too excited to remember was closed! The raccoons of took off with the noise and I was the joke of the night once they figured out I wasn't hurt and the screen door was just dented a little.
They also lived on a lake so there were fishing lessons. We just did catch and release because I wasn't about to kill a fish and we mostly caught bluegills- bony little ones with no meat. The blue gills would eat every bit of bait off your hook until there was nothing every time. They were like little piranhas. Dad got tired of putting the worm on my hook because that's all we were catching and I also wasn't about to touch a worm either... :-& (I'm bettter about worms now! :P ). Eventually I started sticking my head through the wooden slats trying to see if/what might be under the barrel pontoon dock we were standing on. I came almost face to face with a bass whose head was as wide as my 7 year old cranium. Oh I begged Dad to bait the hook again so I could try and get it under the dock and catch "the big one" so I could see it better. Not eat it (although Pap Pap might have had words about a fish that big). He of course refused at this point so I started throwing the hook in bare just to see if it would take it. Well this idiot little 6in bass was sitting right next to where I dropped my hook once for "the big one" and he grabbed it instead! "That wasn't yours you stupid fish! It didn't even have a worm on it" barely covers my reaction. =)) Of course Dad helped me get the fish off the hook and back in the water. They both just might still be alive to this day. I don't think the new house owners were fishers.
My brother also believed there was "a whale in that lake!" at some point when he was a toddler. =)) We had him trying to point it out in the lake on video tape.
