I know it is, but why couldnt she wait a little longer for a head injury :-))

Been there, done that, have the T-shirt (a couple times actually). We love them to death but gosh they sure do take multiple years off our lives when they do things like that. Hugs momma, you will be laughing about this in a few months.

They want her monitored at home for any signs of skull fracture. Vomiting, crying and being inconsolable, seizures etc so far she seems to be ok! The only big crying spree was when I sneezed and startled her. She screamed like someone hurt her, way worse than when she fell, but daddy calmed her down :-SS

When i was a baby, my dad was laying on the bed holding me above him when i spit up on his face. He kinda tossed me on the bed as he jumped up and ran to the bathroom, gagging the whole time. I, meanwhile, bounced off the bed onto the floor.

My mum got distracted and tried to give me a bottle that the lid wasn't screwed on, preceding to "drown" me in milk.

Everyone accidentally injures their kids in some fashion. It's normal! You're not a horrible mother, you're just making stories.

I'm glad to hear the good news about Hazel.

My worst "horrible mother" story happened when my daughter was about 3, I think. I had just removed a ceramic covered cast iron cooking pot filled with macaroni and cheese from the oven when my daughter came bouncing up to me and bumped my elbow with her head. That caused me to drop the hot casserole on the floor where it promptly broke in pieces, spilling very hot macaroni and cheese all over. I was so unhappy about the accident and worried about my youngster in the midst of all that very hot food that I picked her up and threw her across the kitchen so that she wouldn't get burned before I could get things cleaned up. I think she was more surprised than hurt, thank goodness. At this distance in time (37 years or so) I have no idea what it was that I made for supper after the floor was clean that evening.

P.S. I'm usually a very even-tempered person, so I was probably at least surprised by what I had done as my daughter was.
