Het KP Silver Blue WB Filly (Red Papered)

    Since I don’t breed for blue, roan, silver (at this time), or wb and she’s only het KP, I figured someone else may have better use for her!

    She is Red papered and Consistent, so I’m hoping to get 7K out of her, but that’s negotiable :)

    Just a heads up, KP has to be hom to show the cloud and be registered in the club. It doesn’t look like the dam was KP, just has two kit genes. So the filly wouldn’t have shown the KP anyway, since she is only het on her sires side. KP is not possible to be in creates unless modified.

    There are technically 4 alleles that go into a hom KP Horse, 2 testable kit genes and 2 untestable KP genes. The kit genes display as Kit^x gene. And the KP only shows when there are 2 kit genes and then 2 untestable KP genes present, similar to snowflake.

    @fallenshadows714 Ohh so she wouldn’t even be able to pass it along? I obviously just started getting into Kit and don’t know the entirety of it yet lol. But thank you for telling me so I can adjust everything!

    The filly is het kp though and potentially can produce a Homozygous Kp foal to a stud that carries Kp!

Gene Guide Update!

The sunshine gene, previously known only from one line of Standardbreds has been discovered in a TWH. The gene guide has been updated with this new information. Sunshine may be much wider spread than originally thought.
