Kathiawari's are inspired by a real life breed, with various adjustments to make them easy and fun to play with on HJ. Contained herein will be the updated requirements for registry, a link to the buddy chat used for chat, sales, and breeding, and any other relevant info. Comments and questions are welcome!

Current Registration Requirements

• Must be a Riding Pony, 14.2 hh or less, bone of 1.49 in. or less ("light")
• Kit Genes are restricted to: Tobiano (kitto), White 20 (kitw20), and Sabino (kitsb1, kitsb2)
  
• All splash is permitted
• Must NOT have any of the following genes:
  
  • recessive bay (a)
  • silver (Z)
  • roan (Kitr)
  • frame (Olw)
  • champagne (Ch)
  • appaloosa (Llp)
  • mushroom(mu)
  • chinchilla(chn)
  • all fantasy genes
  • all ice genes

If a gene is not explicitly disallowed in the list above, it is permitted. Any horse, foundation or not, snipped or not, can be registered as long as it conforms to the requirements above (ie, it's parents don't have to be kathiawari, and it doesn't have to be breedable). Breeders are encouraged to breed for high PT and low bone weight, but neither are a requirement. General updates to the breed reqs are determined unofficially by discussion in the buddy chat.

Registration and branding is currently handled by two people: @Summervine, and @SandycreekFarm, which means there are two brand tattoos, but if you search "Kathiawari" in the tattoo box, you'll get both in your search results.

If you'd like to have your ponies branded, request to join the chat, then put them up for sale for 1hb, and Sandycreek or I will brand them and relist them for you. It should be noted, any horses listed for 1hb in the chat ARE NOT FOR SALE. They are being transfered for branding. It should go without saying, but deliberately purchasing one is inconsiderate and will be grounds for dismissal from the chat. So far we've had no problems though, because people on HJ are awesome :)

You are free to handle the breeding and selling of your Kathiawari publicly or privately as you see fit, or course, but members often like to list their studs and sales in the chat too! It's a good hub for info, chat, and exchange and we welcome more players to join us :)
