"Old" horse lines?
-
I've been wondering this for a while, and keep forgetting to ask.
Old horses sometimes show up with lines that make them look older/bonier, but I haven't been able to find a specific pattern for when they occur. Is it at a certain age and only with refreshed portraits? Is it like varnish in that it shows up at different ages? Does it have any relation to age of passing (doubt it, but maybe?) or does it only appear on certain colors/ages/types? Every once in a while I've seen it on old "foals" that haven't had their portrait refreshed. Is it a discontinued thing that only shows up on horses from before?
For an example, see the new dun page - the dun horses all have it, while the nd1 and nd2 don't. http://www.huntandjump.com/geneticsguide/?page_id=59ID 45703 | he/himOpen barn policy - no closed lines! I'm always selling straws and eggs from anything I have that catches your eye, don't hesitate to PM me and ask! -
A while back Ammit updated the artwork. So most likely the horses with the harsher muscle lines haven't been refreshed since then. I don't remember exactly when the artwork for the update though... I think maybe last spring.
So to answer your question any newer create/foal should not have the harsher muscle lines. -
Just opening the page of an older horse with the older style muscle lines will change it to the new style image. At least, the ones with the double lines on the shoulder in their thumbnail image that I've opened up have appeared with an up-t0-date musculature. Refreshing the search page before opening the page of a specific horse does NOT change the thumbnail.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."
