Adding genes to a candy pony?

So I have picked up a couple candy ponies. Just made me wonder. If you add a special genes to them would it eventually show up after the candy fades away? If you never trade in the gmt would it never reveal itself? Just curious on this as one is a freaky Friday mare. May be kinda need to see when it would reveal.

If you turn in the token and then add a gene, it would automatically wash the candy coating away. Every time you make a change to the horses photo or genes, it refreshes the image. I’m not sure what it would do while the token is still intact though

When you cash in the GMT token, the candy coating will fade the next time you reroll the horse. So assuming you have cashed in the GMT token for the freaky friday mare, when you reroll the horse's image to see the new gene, the candy stripes will be gone.ID 43830

Golden Tokens have been renamed Diamond Tokens to prevent mixing them up with GMTs. Double boosted over cap horses are now designated as ****Star or ****Gold, again to prevent further member confusion issues I have been seeing.
