My grandmother passed away this morning. I'm half a state away from any family or friends. My husband is at work. I'm just sitting here all by myself. I just want to hug my dad.

Sending virtual hugs and condolences. I’m very sorry for your loss. I know the feeling well, my grandfather passed away earlier this year and I was home alone, 2 states away from family. Fiance was on an overnight training trip for work. The only thing that worked for me was to distract myself, get out of the house if you can.

I can't go anywhere, the roads are icy and my husband has the 4 wheel drive. I could walk up to the cafe, but that's about the only thing in town. I tried to paint but i keep crying and can hardly see.

So sorry for your loss. It's never easy losing family, especially when you're alone. New Year's Eve will be two years exactly since my mother passed from Alzheimer's while my nearest family was a five hour drive away. I second what Fallen said, distract yourself, go out and do something that will take your mind off of it.

Exactly a year ago to the day, my uncle passed. I was never very close to him, he wasn't around much, but his kids are some of my closest family. I made a special horse in his/their honor, my King Louie. I'm going to make one for my grandma now.
