Third gen yellow, and SHE PASSED BA??

    Oh my gosh, I didn't even know that was possible! Don't worry, in not going to keep her intact, but..

    How?! Yellow papered 3rd gen from a B and Red 2nd gen pairing. (I told y'all I have AMAZING luck in the breeding lab!)

    Edit: I am really sad though. She is my only hom machiato mare so far :(

    I’ve noticed I’ve gotten a few yellows from B/red pairs recently which I don’t think I’d experienced before!

    It happens! BA allows within a few points of worse than (as does SBA, though it allows a smaller range). It probably means she's a very high yellow, either PF quality or within a point of it, and the parents are relatively low/mid range. You might try comp testing her sire to an experf to see where he sits. Experfs are 105%, so exactly mid-B.

    Her sire and dam are probably quite low B/Red. If she passes SBA then they are REALLY low B/Red

    For what it's worth, the description for BA says the foal will need to be 'substantially worse' than the parents to be altered. Given that, and the fact that her parents are probably quite low B/red (as mentioned above) then the yellow does make sense. May want to put a note on her parents pages that they are pretty low B/red!

Gene Guide Update!

The sunshine gene, previously known only from one line of Standardbreds has been discovered in a TWH. The gene guide has been updated with this new information. Sunshine may be much wider spread than originally thought.

Golden Tokens have been renamed Diamond Tokens to prevent mixing them up with GMTs.

Double boosted over cap horses are now designated as ****Star or ****Gold, again to prevent further member confusion issues I have been seeing.
