@horsey2 Sounds fun! @BakeryStables and I are going in together on what will be a seven book series, and for NaNoWriMo we'll be working on book two. We did the rough draft of book one in September. It's about a man, Basil, who is determined to unearth the mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle. In his search, he stumbles into a fantastical world beyond his wildest dreams. Book two covers his searching for certain artifacts (gemstones) that will aid in saving the world after he learns midway through book one that this lovely new world he found is under threat by a great evil.

We're aiming at a word count of 100k by mid December, which I guess should put us roughly at 70k ish for November. Of course, we're both working part time jobs and taking a break from college this semester, so we have pretty relaxed days right now which makes 3k words a day a very achievable goal.

@horsey2 What about a horse are you doing? Is it going to be a first person from the point of view of the horse, or is the horse a companion to the protagonist, etc?

@horsey2 That sounds cool! Would it be action/adventure, fantasy, etc, what genre?

@horsey2 Oh, neat! Ours will be a high fantasy/modern fantasy blend.

I am not participating in it, it is hard enough swinging 16 credits and running the writer's workshop on campus.
I am trying to track how many words i do/ don't write though, as I find I am more likely to actually write if I think of whether I am actually doing it.

I am just plugging along on the second story of my series. Right now we are focussing on trying to rehabilitate the dragon they freed from mind control in the first book, and we are also trying to figure out what to do with the brother of one of the main characters of the previous book as this brother grew up serving the main villain and is now a war criminal, so the previous main characters and the dragon are interviewing this character trying to figure out his story and how things ended up the way they did.

As a college student, highly variable. A couple months ago I got 16k in a month... last month I got 2k while trying to balance other things. :( This month I am posting a daily writing log to the workshop documenting how much I am actually writing to keep myself accountable, and so far this month I am averaging 375 words a day. I know I don't count as a writer, but right now I really can't be one.

That's awesome! And hey, even one word a day is a writer! Don't tell yourself your word count doesn't count, cause it does! Everyone's got their own pace :D
And I don't think you'd want 3k a day, lol. It's killer on our already sad social lives :))
