Showable only foal
-
So I have this foundation mare
http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=317223
5 years old, 2 foals on the ground. Her first foal was Showable only but still had a PT of 9.9. He is the only (living) foal from his sire that is Showable only and his pt is higher than King's AFPT of 9.87. His full sister passed SMA/SAT and has a 10.1 PT. Should I cull the mare or just watch her for the next few seasons?
Yes, I'm STILL working on my broodmare cull. -
I'd cull, but those are both decent PTs... depends on whether you're interested in show stock or mainly breeding stock.
-
I could use the show stock, But im breeding for quality primarily. The mare and her filly will be snipped and added to the show string, if I really want show ponies I will just breed a pasture to one of the gen 5 boys!
