Wild Bay Macchiato FF
-
I just turned my macchiato Freaky Friday filly into a wild bay and she is such an unexpected color. She's kind of a dark honey color, on my phone at least, instead of the nright blood bay she would normally have been. I knew she would be diluted a bit from the macchiato, but i didn't know how much. I think she quite pretty, although I still have plans to do more gmt work, and I wouldn't be too disappointed if I can't finish her.

Compare to the hom sooty hom DP wild bays Cheers posted here:

Must be the Macchiato. Macchiato does lighten up certain colors. She is gorgeous - a combination of two of my favorite genes!
I also noticed that the comparable foundations were either sooty wild bays with no DP, silver, or pearl. So not really comparable. :)ID: 16853 -
It is still sort of comparable if you know your wild bay colors.
Here is a normal Hom Sooty No DP wild bay from my discussion.

And here is a Hom Sooty No DP wild bay buckskin from my comparison discussion.

Clearly Macchiato acts very similarly to adding a copy of cream on dark wild bays. -
To further my comparison:

That's a very neat observation. I wonder if macchiato acts on other colors the same way, or if wild bay is just funny. *off to examine horses*#28036

This is my GMTed Black Liver Chestnut with hom Macchiato, he doesn't have any other lighter genes and he is almost silver is color

NaF Splash of Darkness
and this is a hom Sooty, hom DP Yule Log with hom Macchiato, she is also a much lighter color now than she was before I added the Macchiato.

Your filly is beautiful!
Macchiato can definitely do some significant lightening. I added it to my non-sooty chestnut guy and he came out like this:
Milk in my Coffee ExPerf
Before the update, he was a very similar color to this lady:
Showgirl Feather GSH
I was really surprised!
