Real Dun Gene
-
I was following all the rabbit trails and I found this color test on a facebook page for a beautiful roping stallion named Latigo Dun It. It is incredibly blurry, but I think it says there are two different Dun alleles, labelled d1 and d2.

What's the difference? -
Here's the link to the page at UC Davis that explains the situation with Dun and Dun-type markings. I won't try to restate it, 'cause I'd probably get it wrong. :D

Basically there is one dun and two versions of non dun.Need to contact me? Read this first. Only send me a PM for PayPal issues or if I ask you to. Otherwise, make a forum post. You will get a better faster answer by making a post.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

Thanks, Ammit. That's what I was understanding from the page, but I wasn't sure.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

Oh, and nd1 gives the primitive markings like leg barring and non-dun dorsal stripes. Thanks!Thanked by 1KAMRanch
