I've been thinking about adding pearl to my King's Ransom guy, but I want to make sure it's possible before I get my hopes up.

Yes :D
A foundation can have any gene added from the gmt lab so long as they are younger than 5 with no Foals :)

It's weird that he hasn't got Pearl. I thought they all were ment to have it :-?

I think if they were made during the Blackout event, pearl was stripped from them.

And some people managed to get their KR before the black out event, so if you really really wanted it because of its pearl and can't gmt, you may be able to find someone to trade with. It's only 2 gmts per pearl though, so if you dedicate yourself and made your KR young you should be able to do it.

So I have the GMTs already and he is only 2, but when I go into the GMT lab the only options it shows me for the cream genes is for the regular cream C without the option to add Ccr or Cprl.

I hadn't realized with the black out event that he would miss pearl.
I'm really excited about him regardless, but I would love to be able to make him hom pearl. I was hoping for him to be my first attempt at GMTing before I settle in on a big project.

Once you have selected him in the gmt lab, Scroll down to find the cream genes
There should be 2 of them.
Click on one and it should bring up Change C to Ccr for 1 token Change C to Cprl for 2 tokens :D
You can add to either C side :D

Sorry Ammit, it wasn't meant to be rude - just that it was kind of a weird shock for a RS that is supposed to have guaranteed genes to not have had those genes. I don't think I or a lot of people realized the Blackout event would affect the RS of the day. Not a big deal by any means, just kind of a shock that I think most people weren't aware to be wary of. I think I and a lot of players make our RS herd helpers as soon as we see them to avoid potentially forgetting and missing out entirely. Still an awesome free gift, to be sure, but if we'd been aware that the Blackout would affect the RS we'd probably have planned for it.

What is gmt?

GMT is the abbreviation for Genetic Modification Token. Since this is just a game, we have access to a few things not available in real life. One of them is the ability to modify a horse's genetics. The lab for doing that is called Gene Mod Treatment, found under Advance Facilities.

These changes are paid for by GMTs, which can be bought for cash on the Upgrade With Real Money page, or by using Investment Vouchers. It takes 20 IVs to purchase 1 GMT, and each IV costs 12,500 hbs, so this isn't an inexpensive option in game money.
