Splash M can only be sold to other people that have Splash M or back to the game.

Even altered. It's a closed gene. NO ONE can own it unless they've bought it at the Foundation level. Therefore you cannot put it in the auction or up for public sales because those methods do not restrict potential purchasers to those that already own the gene.

You can use the Fantasy Gene sell back to get 2500/horse just like you would at the auction. It's on the horse's control page.
