Closed white patterns
-
Apart from Snowflake and Splash M are there any other closed white patterns? Is white 10 and splash 3 closed?21170
-
No they arent closed. Snowflake isnt a closed gene either a lot of players just keep it between barns who already have snowflake
-
I think Splash 3 isn't a closed gene, but it is very rare and probably would count as an LE gene. It came into the game on Nov. 24, 2014, with Lupin the Third, horse 3,000,000 in Hunt and Jump 1. I believe Ammit gave everyone in HaJ 1 a straw from Lupin the Third, but not all of his 2nd gen offspring remained intact, is is usually the case.
I must admit that I don't remember exactly how Ammit introduced Sps3 into this version of Hunt and Jump.
There are currently only 703 horses in HaJ2 with Sps3. There are 1876 of them in HaJ1. It is definitely not available in the GM lab, and would not show up spontaneously when creating horses.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

Splash 3 was either in the GMT lab for a short period of time or was able to be put on horses (like we do with the LE genes) for a short amount of time I cant remember which or when. And Mr. Meteoric Milestone has a copy. So when we got straws from him some of us got that gene.Thanked by 1SandycreekFarm

W10 is also limited but not closed. Mr. Meteoric Milestone and one of the previous milestone stallions had it, and it was available in the available in the GMT lab briefly.
The closed genes are Splash M, Axiom, and Ice 3, 4, 7, and 9-13.
Breeding high quality Sheldasen horses. Liver chestnut, DP mushroom, and rose gray riding horses. Dun cobs with all the patterns. Watercolor, Wrong Warp and ice on mixed body types.

So is it common for people to release their W10 gene since it was a LE gene? I'm debating on if i should or can sell straws from my W10 splash 3 stud and what price I should sell the straws for since my stud has W10 and splash 3 and sooty + and pearl
-
I thought that anything below Ice 9 was closed? Oh boy this is confusing!
What exactly are all of the closed genes?DivineDreams ~ 30908
Lover of Frame, KitM, Sb2, W3, W8, W10, Dp, Pearl, S+, Chinchilla, Chocolate bb, Ice 1, Ice 9, Ice 10, Ice 14, Kp2, Nexus, Nacre, Paintbrush Cool, Paintbrush Prism, Phantom Autumn, Phantom Diamond Sparkle, Phantom Hearts, Phantom Lace, Satin, SplashM, WaterColor. -
Ammit has said the only CLOSED genes are Splash M, Axiom, and Ice 9-13.
Everything else (Ice genes, Nexus etc) is "preferred" to be kept between people who bought those genes (Owns foundation)Thanked by 1SummertreeFarms -
@StarfireAcres, you can sell straws from your Mr. Meteoric Milestone foal. Any horse with W10, Splash 3, and/or Sooty+ are open genes and thus able to be shared.
W10/Splash 3's rarity and straw/egg price depend upon the willingness of the owner to release them to other barns. I personally purchased W10 back when it was available in the GMT lab and I recall a time when Splash 3 was available too, Sandy, though I can't remember when/how it was available. I didn't purchase it at the time. So I would browse the sales board to find public stud/brood prices or look at the buddy chat rooms designated for the specific genes. I'm a member of a W10 group and the prices don't appear to be too different from other white patterns.Thanked by 1SummertreeFarms -
I'll find the post about it when I get home. I'm on my mobile at the moment and can't look it up.
-
@DivineDreams, note that Ice and Nexus are fantasy genes and Ammit closed them from public sale boards but Nexus and certain Ice genes are available via buddy chat or public auction.

I have some intact offspring of The Brindled Cat, a December, 11, 2014 stallion with Sp3. (http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=3) I wasn't playing HJ2 at the time, so I don't know why he was introduced, but I'm guessing he is where the original Sp3 started over here.
Just as a rule of thumb;
If you can buy it in the GMT lab, it is not closed. Go look at the genes available in the lab to see which ones are available.
If it can appear on a new create (foundation horse) it is not closed. Snowflake can appear on a new create, but usually it is Heterozygous, so you can't see it and won't know it is there until you breed to another snowflake.
If you have to pay real life cash money to Ammit via Paypal, then it is a closed gene.

But Confluence W10 is not in the GMT lab and I'm not sure if splash 3 is either
-
Neither W10 nor Splash 3 are in the GMT lab. Nor are they Spontaneous genes. But they are not closed books either. Anyone can own them.

Ok thanks cheers

Just so every one understands, the lower numbered Ice versions mentioned by OndowaStables are privately owned versions, which individual players payed Ammit to create for them. And in case you're wondering, I don't know how much such things cost. Certainly it must be enough to make it worth Ammit's valuable time to do it.De gustibus non disputandum.
