Can we breed for longevity?

Can we breed for longevity or is it just random? Cheers.Breeding brown/liver/black with white spotting drafts. If you ever fancy straws PM me. PM me if you need help with GE.

If Ammit has programmed longevity into the game no one seems to have noticed it so far.

That would be neat but I don't think it is in the game at the moment.Owner Of Bellwether Farm

Even if it were an element of the game, it would be extremely difficult to breed for. It would require quite a bit of patience and impulse control! In the real world, we breed for health, soundness and genetic traits that lead to a longer life. I assume those factors are somehow worked into the breeding ability tests in the game. However, for obvious reasons, we can do all the tests we want and still not know how long an animal will live until, you know, they aren't living anymore. Which makes life span difficult to breed for.
I can really only see two effective strategies for breeding for life span: Don't breed any of your horses until they age past a certain point. ie: Horses would only be bred when they were between, say, 18 - 20 years of age.
Or, I suppose, you could pull straws and eggs on all of your horses. You'd have to wait until they aged out of the game and only use those from horses that lived the longest. Or, I suppose, try to go off of the grandparents' age.Thanked by 1Dinascar -
Yes Waldgraf sounds tricky and to be fair patience was never a strong point of mine! Before breeding for that I have loads to breed for first! :)
