How many years does a HaJ horse lives?
-
At what age they start to risk dying? What is the best age to start breeding them? Before of after they level off?
-
Start breeding them when the stallions are 3 and the mares are 4. There is no advantage that I know of to waiting until they are older. Since breeding takes no time at all, you don't have to hold off showing while a mare is carrying a foal. And the stallions are not distracted at all by mares in heat. :D
Horses can no longer be bred when they reach 20. They can continue showing until they die, however.
Horses have a chance of dying of old age when they turn 18, and many of them do. Each year after that there is the chance one will die. The oldest horse in Hunt and Jump 1 is 30! My oldest horse in this game is 18, but I haven't been playing long it long. In H&J 1, which I have been playing longer, my oldest horse is 22.
That's game years, of course.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."
