A word of advice, JamesBay; you can get 1000 for selling a horse back to the game, on the Control Panel page. If you put your horse in the public auction you will get a minimum of 2500 if the game bids on, and wins, the horse. Putting horses up for sale for less than 2500 just allows other players to buy the horse and turn around and put it into the auction, that way they make an easy profit, and you have missed out.

Edited to add: Whoops! The first time I looked they were for sale for 250. When I checked again you had them in the auction. So nevermind! :D
