Reregister horse?

I bought this mare yesterday and I noticed on the control panel that there is a button "Reregister". When I click it, I get this message:
Reregistering Your Horse
Are you certain you wish to register this horse in your name? The old breed and brand data will be lost and your breeder information used instead. It costs 3000 hb's to reregister a horse.
I am curious about it. I haven't seen it before. Is it something new? Why is it on this mare, but not any of the other foundation horses I bought yesterday?
Edit: the reregister button is also on another mare I bought from the same person.

that happens when the original breeder /owners account has been deleted so there is no name under breeder, It offers you the option to put your name there instead of leaving it blank

It happened with this horse of mine . When i joined two accounts together my jaclou acc was deleted . jaclou was the original breeder / owner. When the horse was moved to my account I was given the option to re-register her under Jailee

Golden Tokens have been renamed Diamond Tokens to prevent mixing them up with GMTs. Double boosted over cap horses are now designated as ****Star or ****Gold, again to prevent further member confusion issues I have been seeing.
