Snowflake
-
Snowflake is not testable right? How can you tell if your horse is a carrier? Also will horses carry it generations down? Thanks
-
No, it's a hidden gene that is only visible on a horse that is homozygous for snowflake AND carries leopard. It's pretty easy to spot if a horse possesses it, but otherwise your best bet is looking at a pedigree and guessing. Ammit did mention on the facebook group that it could be randomly created (Like DP - sometimes a dark chestnut Herd Helper will give you a liver), but unlike DP it's impossible to tell if a mare has it. She also said that the only identified foundation carriers were on the original Hunt and Jump server. None have yet been identified on HJ2. There are only a small handful of foundation stallions that I know of!

Thank you!
